My Writing Playlist

Standard

When I’m writing, I have to have music on.

Deafening silence just doesn’t seem to work for me at all.

And probably like most writers, there are certain songs and artists who seem to get the creative juices flowing!

If you know anything about my debut rom-com “Rock My World”, you’ll have guessed that I am a huge fan of rock music in particular.

So, as soon as I sit down to write, the likes of Fleetwood Mac; Stevie Nicks; Bon Jovi; Lissie; Thea Gilmore and Journey are turned up to a (probably) unacceptable level.

Their soaring voices; haunting lyrics and the thrilling music certainly seem to help me get the words down on the page and stimulate ideas.

When I write in coffee shops too, I always deliberately choose places which tend to play really great music.

So the next time you are about to sit down and write, I hope your favourite music encourages you creatively too.

You can’t beat a bit of the legendary Stevie Nicks to fire up those writing emotions!
